Cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition là cuộc thi giải quyết tình huống kinh doanh thực tế đầu tiên dành cho sinh viên do Nielsen Việt Nam tổ chức. Cuộc thi luôn thu hút sự quan tâm và nhận được rất nhiều phản hồi tích cực từ các bạn sinh viên nhờ những thử thách kinh doanh thực tiễn và hấp dẫn. 

Những năm trở lại đây, trong bối cảnh Covid-19, cuộc thi đã có những thay đổi nhất định về format nhằm mang lại cho các bạn sinh viên nhiều trải nghiệm khác biệt, thú vị hơn cũng như nhiều kiến thức hơn về lĩnh vực nghiên cứu thị trường. 1. Cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition: Cơ hội dành cho ai?

1.1 Đối tượng của cuộc thi 

  • Sinh viên Việt Nam trên toàn thế giới, đang hoàn thành năm 3 và năm 4 đại học (hoặc sinh viên năm 2 của các khóa học có thời hạn 3 năm).
  • Sinh viên chưa từng có kinh nghiệm làm việc tại Nielsen IQ.
  • Các thí sinh cần lập nhóm từ 3-4 thành viên để đăng ký. 
  • GPA 6.5 trở lên

1.2 Đối tượng nên tham gia

Bạn nên tham gia cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition nếu quan tâm đến 1 trong 2 nhóm lợi ích sau:

Nhóm 1: Kiến thức và kỹ năng

Cơ hội tiếp xúc thị trường

Là một trong những công ty nghiên cứu thị trường hàng đầu Việt Nam, khách hàng chính của Nielsen đều thuộc hàng Big Corp, đặc biệt là ngành FMCG. Vì vậy thông qua cuộc thi, các bạn sẽ có cái nhìn tổng quát về thị trường (các nhà sản xuất trên thị trường, những xu hướng mới,…).

Kỹ năng liên quan đến dữ liệu

NCC nổi tiếng là cuộc thi với tính chuyên môn cao, đặc biệt là về phân tích data. Trong các cuộc thi giải case study, Nielsen Case Competition là cuộc thi mang tính nền tảng và thiết thực nhất vì nó tập trung vào kỹ năng kể câu chuyện với dữ liệu (storytelling). Kỹ năng phân tích và chọn lọc dữ liệu có thể áp dụng trong tất cả các loại công việc.

Nhóm 2: Thực tiễn 

Các đội thi được lựa chọn ở vòng 2 của cuộc thi sẽ có cơ hội cao được làm việc tại NielsenIQ nhờ những giải thưởng giá trị từ chương trình. Đặc biệt top 2 sẽ nhận được lời mời trở thành Nielsen Trainees –  công việc đầu đời rất tốt cho các bạn sinh viên, ngay sau khi cuộc thi kết thúc. Đây sẽ là bước khởi đầu cho cuộc hành trình kiên định của các thí sinh ở ngành nghiên cứu thị trường hoặc cũng có thể là bàn đạp để các bạn phát triển sự nghiệp trên các con đường khác.

Ngoài ra, đây là cuộc thi tập trung nhiều vào phân tích dữ liệu. Vậy nên, nó sẽ rất phù hợp với các bạn có tư duy logic và đam mê với số liệu.

2. Hiểu rõ mục đích cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition

Cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition là cuộc thi giải business case thực tế dành cho sinh viên. Cuộc thi sẽ đưa ra dữ liệu, insight từ thị trường mà các nhóm sinh viên sẽ áp dụng kiến thức và kỹ năng của họ để xử lý. 

Các nhóm tham gia sẽ có cơ hội tiếp cận với các bộ dữ liệu chuyên sâu và thực tế do Nielsen IQ cung cấp để giải quyết các business case thực thế. Thông qua cuộc thi, thí sinh sẽ được đào tạo và đánh giá trực tiếp bởi các chuyên gia của Nielsen IQ.

Mục tiêu cuối cùng của cuộc thi là trang bị cho sinh viên kiến thức thực tế, nâng cao tư duy phân tích, tư duy về dữ liệu, kỹ năng giải quyết vấn đề, làm việc nhóm và thuyết trình. Đây đều là những kiến thức và kỹ năng rất cần thiết trong kỷ nguyên 4.0.

3. Format mới nhất và giải thưởng cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition 2021

3.1. Vòng sơ khảo (Vòng thi trắc nghiệm):

Thay vì giải Case Study như các năm trước, vòng 1 cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition 2021 được thực hiện dưới dạng các câu hỏi trắc nghiệm có độ phân hóa cao.

2 tiếng trước giờ thi đấu, các đội dự thi sẽ được cung cấp một cuốn Cẩm Nang Học Viện Nielsen Vietnam (Nielsen Academy Textbook – NAT) giới thiệu về lịch sử của Nielsen IQ, khái niệm nghiên cứu, các giải pháp và thuật ngữ thường gặp.

Vào giờ thi, mỗi đội sẽ được cung cấp 1 đường liên kết đến Google Form, bao gồm 30 câu hỏi trắc nghiệm (có thể có 1 hoặc nhiều đáp án đúng). Những câu hỏi này đều dựa trên NAT.

Nếu các bạn trả lời đúng sẽ được cộng 1 điểm, trả lời sai hoặc không trả lời sẽ bị trừ 1 điểm. Các đội thi hoàn thành sớm sẽ có điểm bonus.12 đội nộp bài đúng thời hạn và có nhiều đáp án chính xác nhất sẽ được bước tiếp.

Yếu tố đánh giá

  • Kiến thức tổng quan về nghiên cứu thị trường và thị trường Việt Nam.
  • Khả năng đọc hiểu và phân tích số liệu.

Kỳ vọng từ BTC

  • Nắm chắc những kiến thức nhập môn về nghiên cứu thị trường.
  • Có khả năng đọc hiểu và áp dụng dữ liệu được cung cấp để trả lời những câu hỏi đưa ra.

3.2. Vòng Bán Kết (Case Study + Thuyết trình)

Trong vòng 24 giờ, mỗi đội sẽ giải Case Study theo đề bài đã được giao (dữ liệu Excel, mẫu trang trình bày, thư viện icons, mẹo thuyết trình). Đội ngũ nhân viên của NielsenIQ sẽ thực hiện training và coaching cho các bạn để chuẩn bị cho bài thuyết trình.

Sáng hôm sau, mỗi đội sẽ phải thuyết trình trực tiếp cho các giám khảo thông qua Microsoft Teams. Mỗi đội có 15 phút thuyết trình và 10 phút Q&A cùng ban giám khảo. Tất cả 12 đội sẽ được chia thành các bảng khác nhau. 5 đội đứng đầu sẽ được đi tiếp vào vòng chung kết.

Yếu tố đánh giá 

  • Kỹ năng phân tích dữ liệu 
  • Kỹ năng kể câu chuyện với dữ liệu (Storytelling) 
  • Kỹ năng làm việc nhóm 
  • Kỹ năng thuyết trình (bằng Tiếng Anh) và xử lý tình huống

Kỳ vọng từ BTC

  • Vận dụng tốt dữ liệu để phân tích kinh doanh, đề xuất giải pháp cho khách hàng 
  • Đứng dưới góc nhìn của doanh nghiệp để đưa ra những giải pháp thích đáng và hợp lý cho doanh nghiệp có thể thực hiện 
  • Thuyết trình tự tin, thuyết phục trên những thông điệp chính và giải pháp đưa ra
  • Thể hiện sức bền bỉ qua những vòng thi

3.3. Vòng chung kết (Case Study + Thuyết trình)

Format vòng chung kết khá giống với vòng bán kết. Các đội thi nhận và giải đề trong vòng 24 giờ. Mỗi team có 15 phút thuyết trình và 10 phút Q&A cùng ban giám khảo.

Tại đây, 5 đội thi xuất sắc nhất sẽ tham gia tranh tài để chọn ra:

  • 1 đội Quán quân: Giải thưởng tiền mặt và những phần quà khác đến từ ban tổ chức, giấy chứng nhận, học bổng và 1 suất thực tập tại NielsenIQ.
  • 1 đội Á quân: Giải thưởng tiền mặt và những phần quà khác đến từ ban tổ chức, giấy chứng nhận, học bổng và 1 suất thực tập tại NielsenIQ.
  • 2 đội Finalist: Nhận được những phần quà từ ban tổ chức, giấy chứng nhận, học bổng và 1 suất thực tập tại NielsenIQ (sau khi vượt qua vòng interview cuối cùng).

Ngoài ra, top 16 của cuộc thi cũng nhận được giấy chứng nhận, học bổng và 1 suất thực tập tại NielsenIQ (sau khi vượt qua vòng interview cuối cùng).

Lưu ý: Trên đây là format và giải thưởng của cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition 2021. Tùy từng năm, cuộc thi sẽ có những thay đổi nhất định. Vì vậy, các bạn hãy cập nhật thông tin về cuộc thi thường xuyên nhé!

4. Bỏ túi các tips chinh phục cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition 

4.1. Chuẩn bị các kiến thức cần thiết 

Các kiến thức cần thiết sẽ thiên về:

  • Ngành bán lẻ và FMCG
  • Sales/Brand Marketing/Trade Marketing
  • Hành vi người tiêu dùng/Market Insights
  • Doanh thu, lợi nhuận kinh doanh

Phần này chính là những bước nền tảng để các bạn có thể nhanh nhạy hơn khi giải case. Vì lượng kiến thức lớn nên các thành viên trong nhóm có thể chia nhau ra để tìm đọc, sau đó mỗi người làm 1 bản tổng hợp và thuyết trình cho những người còn lại để cả nhóm đều có 1 lượng kiến thức nhất định.

Các nguồn báo cáo bạn có thể tham khảo: Nielsen, Euromonitor, Kantar,…Các bạn nên đọc kỹ tài liệu của NielsenIQ vì không chỉ tiếp thu kiến thức mà các bạn còn có thể xem cách họ trình bày những thông tin đó như thế nào.

4.2. Chuẩn bị những kỹ năng cần thiết

Kỹ năng làm việc nhóm

Trước khi vào làm việc nhóm với nhau, các bạn cần nắm được các thành viên trong nhóm có những kỹ năng và điểm mạnh gì, từ đó có thể phân bổ nguồn lực cho các phần khác nhau của giải case như phân tích dữ liệu, thuyết trình, dự đoán các câu hỏi của ban giám khảo,…

Phân tích dữ liệu (Data Analysis)

Đây là 1 kỹ năng cực kì quan trọng khi tham gia cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition vì bạn rất dễ bị lạc trong 1 rừng dữ liệu. Về cơ bản, dữ liệu chỉ là công cụ, quan trọng là phải xây được 1 cấu trúc để từ đó dùng dữ liệu cho phù hợp. 

Bạn có thể tham khảo mô hình SCQA, CBS toolbox, các bài viết về issue tree cũng như tìm hiểu các loại dữ liệu thường hay xuất hiện trong đề Nielsen và làm đề thi các năm trước.

Trực quan hóa dữ liệu (Data Visualization)

Khi đã có dữ liệu và thông tin thì việc tiếp theo bạn cần làm đó là áp dụng các phương thức visualize data. Các kỹ năng sử dụng Excel, dùng biểu đồ sẽ giúp bạn giải đáp được bài toán này.

Kể chuyện bằng dữ liệu (storytelling)

Bạn nên chọn lọc những thông tin phục vụ cho mục đích của bạn. Lưu ý: việc kết nối các thông tin thành 1 câu chuyện để trình bày cho người xem là điều vô cùng quan trọng.

Cách trình bày thế nào để kể câu chuyện của chính mình cũng vô cùng cần thiết. Các bạn có thể nghiên cứu thêm các bài báo cáo của Nielsen để hiểu cách trình bày và luyện tập kể câu chuyện từ mục đích, tổng quan, chi tiết đến giải pháp 1 cách có cấu trúc và rõ nét nhất.

Kỹ năng giao tiếp và thuyết trình

Các đội thi cần phải thuyết trình bài làm bằng tiếng Anh do đó đây là kỹ năng rất cần thiết cho các thí sinh. Hãy luyện tập phong thái trình bày, cách truyền đạt thông tin gãy gọn trong thời gian giới hạn nhưng phải đủ ý nhé!

4.3. Lập kế hoạch

Khi tham gia cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition, các bạn sẽ được trải nghiệm sức ép thời gian và phải hoàn thành công việc dưới áp lực cao. Đặc biệt trong các vòng giải case, thí sinh chỉ có 24 – 48 giờ để phân tích đề và thuyết trình. 

Do đó, các bạn cần tạo ra 1 lịch trình cụ thể cho cả đội để các thành viên biết mình phải làm gì, nên ưu tiên làm việc gì trước,… Từ đó, phân bổ thời gian hợp lý và biết mình có đang đi đúng hướng hay không.

Cuộc thi Nielsen Case Competition có rất nhiều thử thách dành cho các bạn thí sinh nhưng cũng chính vì thế mà các bạn sẽ được học hỏi rất nhiều kiến thức và những kỹ năng mới.
